I was locked out of my SBCGLOBAL account mid December and same as everyone else cannot get in and password and user name is not recognized.  Today I was waiting for a service call from Sears so I decided since I had to wait to use this opportunity to call AT&T what a nightmare this was.

I was taken for a loop for several hours from about 7-different tech people to a few supervisors.

AT&T wanted to charge me $49.99 to unlock my account and free my emails.

I had my debit card ready to pay the extortion.  Then I was told I had to transfer one email at a time to a new account, and that it may not work all together.  So I said I have over 5,000 emails do you mean to tell me that I have to transfer one by one to a new account?  He said yes and it may not work but you can also sign up for tech support from AT&T for one year at $12.00 a month. Well I spent at least 3-hours being bounced around AT&T from India to the USA.  No results.........Every state has a regulatory agency and from here on the best thing to do is contact your state Public Utilities Commission because if you call AT&T you will be wasting your time with one lie after another. Her is the contact in California

that is a joke, NEVER pay another company to gain access to your emails.  SBCglobal is a POP3 hosted platform, just like AT&T.  Once you have your AT&T setup or whatever service you select. or if you have a iCloud setup, you can add on your old SBCglobal email account as well just add as a POP3/SMTP (just google for instructions) and it will pull all the emails into your new email service.  NEVER EVER pay for your old email access, you can get them for free all by yourself.   you will need your old SDBglobal email username/password, and if you forgot it there a recovery you can request as well.  Good Luck and remember DONT pay that 100% stealing your money.

I too have been locked out my ATT email account, not because I logged in the wrong information too many times, they just LOCKED ME OUT.  I have been locked out since Dec 6, and have called ATT everyday.  ATT customer service is no help at all, they will not give a new PW verbally and will not text mail or send a PW to an alternate email address because the alternate email is not registered with them.  Think about if I registered another email with ATT, who to say they won't lock me out of that one too!!  I even said, "I'll go to an ATT store and have the sales rep call you to verify my ID.  NOPE, can't do that either.  Any ideas?

I have the same problem. If you keep checking the boards here you will find that this is their canned response

We are here to help you get back into your email, TC10303.

At this time, we can not reset the passwords verbally.

We suggest that you reset your password which may resync your account on our end. After this, we recommend that you wait a full 72 hours before you log back in.

Please let us know if this helps.

None of this helps. I was not able to get into my email from a web browser but I was able to access it on my iphone and Ipad. I called tech support to find out why and he said he would reset my password. I told him not to because once he did it would lock me out of my iphone and Ipad. He did it anyways and then said check your email know on your phone. Sure enough it locked me out.  Then said sorry, there is nothing else I can do for you on this end. You need to go to a AT&T store. That was no help. Neither was the countles calls to tech support. This was last Friday. If this has been a problem with a dowed server since last Tuesday, why would tech support reset the password knowing it would cause problems?

I have been calling att since Dec 6, they refuse to give me a new pw over the phone, so I asked them to mail it to me.  They said, they don't do that, if the IRS will send a notice through the mail, but att won't, lets me believe something else is going on-maybe taking down their server.  All I want is 24 hours so I retrieve my email folders and contacts then I'm DONE WITHATT.  THEY DON'T CARE!!

Just for info the 1 800 822 2020 support number is no help.  I'm getting tired of being patronized; "I'm sorry, I realize how important retrieving your email is."  But there's nothing we can do.  Just keep calling until our tech gets this workout.  Well, that's been since Dec 6!!!
