You can use postpaid phones in Europe with roaming. We highly recommend a plan to reduce the costs

If you have access to wifi and a wifi calling capable iphone, you can use your phone without roaming charges. Keep in mind that if you call a European number, it is the same as if you were calling from the US meaning you pay long distance charges. Those charges might still be less than international roaming rates.
