Will Northeast MI ever receive 3G?
I've heard talk about how ATT is "working on their network coverage" and plans to provide 3G service in Northeast MI "in the coming months". Well, now that another 2 year contract has expired, I'm seriously wondering if I would be better off jumping to Verizon. The EDGE data network up here if virtually useless. 5 full bars, yet extremely poor data transfer.
Can anyone provide an HONEST answer as to when this coverage is planned to be upgraded??? Verizon has had 3G for quite a long while up here...

Finally after over a year of waiting......the AT&T site is Lovells, MI is running 3G/UMTS:)
Speeds: 4 down/1.5 up.

It's great so far! I get 3 bars of LTE by me. around 13-15MB down.

HSPA+ in Lovells, MI. Ethernet backhaul is via Microwave. LTE coming soon!:)

That tower in Arnold should be going live soon if not already. LTE activations in Michigan have cooled way down the last several months, unfortunately. Don't know why northern Michigan, including the Thumb area, are low priority areas for AT&T.

My friend told me Gwinn now has 4G. Arnold tower stil hasn't been activated yet that I know of.

Well, what a coincidence from my last post. Several sites in the Thumb area have received LTE upgrades this weekend. Owendale, Kingston, Lexington, and the second site in Caro are all running LTE. Several others are now on Ethernet and running HSPA+ as well.

LTE went live on the site in Lovells, MI this morning. 5x5 Band 17.
Port Sanilac and Watersmeet also received LTE upgrades this morning:)
