After looking further into this, I am seeing the text message you have received is legitimate. We will be issuing credits and waiving additional fees to give unlimited talk, text, and data to our customers located in Florida and Georgia. This was effective 09/08/2017 thru 09/17/2017. We have Live Updates on Hurricane Irma where you can read more on what we're doing to help everyone in these areas.
As far as your service moving slowly, you can certainly try to turn your phone off for about 10 seconds and turn it back on. Please keep in mind, we are trying our best to get all of our towers back up for our customers, and while some towers are down there may be more network congestion.
