Poor cell service

What has happened to AT&T.  A few years ago we had five bar service in our house.  Now we are lucky to get one.  We miss calls and texts. I tried to talk to AT&T but their customer service is even worse.  After waiting 15 minutes to talk to a customer service rep and allowing the rep another 3 or 4 minutes to verify my information and pull up my account, ( I am calling on an AT&T number, that information should be in their face when they answer the line), he needs to transfer me to technical service.  So I go back on hold and after 4 more minutes I hear a click and a ring, when answered is the original automated answering service.  So almost 30 minutes later I have still not been successful in opening a trouble ticket on my coverage, and I loose my connection.  I have been an AT&T customer for many years but I am going shopping.  A tin can and string would be more effective and a lot more cost effective.

Hello @chemphill,

Good Morning! We sincerely apologize for what you went through when you were contacting our technical support team. Having a bad signal is always concerning and I will be happy to help!

One thing you can do is restart the phone or enable/disable airplane mode, these steps will reconnect you to the tower nearest you. I recommend downloading our Mark the Spot application, so you can log the bad service in the area. If your area has a lot of AT&T users and the network is congested, we will expand the network to meet the growing need and this app helps us pin point those areas.

I hope this helps, have a great day!
