Please fix our service

"Dear AT&T, We, the residents of Gillespie, IL 62033 and the immediate surrounding communities are asking you to proactively pursue our complaints of limited or no cell phone service in our area. Dropped phone calls or being confined to the interior of the home on a microcell tower are no longer acceptable to us. We ask for immediate action to be taken to correct the issue. We are going to keep contacting our Local Officials, State Senators, The Federal Trade Commission, The Federal Communications Commission and the Attorney General's office until this matter is resolved. Please, Stop ignoring our requests for action and start taking our complaints serious. Thank you!

A UNITED GILLESPIE COMMUNITY

If you have been affected by the horrible cell phone signal in our community, Please copy and paste to the AT&T website. It's time they take action.

This is going viral all over Facebook and we are contacting the AG on this matter because I pay 300.00 a month for service that doesn’t even work in my house but a year ago it worked fine!

Hello @MrsHall,

Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention. I can definitely understand how experiencing service issues is not acceptable, and I want to let you know your concern hasn’t been unnoticed.

An excellent way to report this type of problems is through our useful Mark the Spot app. With this service, our technicians are able to identify areas for investigation. This allows us to take action towards a resolution.

In addition, I invite you to send us a private message to @ATTCares, so we can gather some more details. In the message please include your full name and contact number. I would be happy to personally assist in this matter.

Your comments are greatly appreciated as they help us improve customer’s satisfaction.  I look forward to speaking with you and getting this situation taken care of.

Best regards,

Mrs Hall.  Don't expect ATT to give you anything but the same canned responses.  I used Mark The Spot for 2 years in my area south of Nashville and service is exactly the same as it was before I started using Mark The Spot.  The problem is that you have poor service in your area and ATT will NEVER admit that.  They'll tell you to reset your network settings, use Mark the Spot, change your phone, turn off your LTE, etc etc etc but your service will not improve.  Then they'll tell you that coverage maps are not a guarantee of coverage (ironically) and that if you want to find a different carrier, then you can try that.  Or they'll try to sell you a signal booster for $350.  Of course that has to be powered and isn't portable so basically you're out of luck.  It's insulting for ATT CSR's to give the exact same "solutions" to the same problems for all customers.  The ultimate fix is to build the network to match their coverage maps but they're not going to do that.  Sorry for your bad luck what they're saying.
