AT&T Fixes: No Service or Searching on iPhone

Solutions for Text, Calling, and LTE Connections on iPhone

Having the issues below?

  • Trouble sending or receiving text messages
  • Can't connect to the internet/ LTE network
  • Call trouble
  • No service or searching error message
  • iPhone messages not going to Android

Try two quick fixes first

Restart your phone or toggle airplane mode on then off.

If the fixes do not work, check out more solutions below. Have an Android device? Check out our Android Text & Call article.

Apple vs Android Messaging

When iMessage is in use, it may prevent Andriod users from receiving the message. This is because iMessage uses servers that do not communicate with AT&T. Try turning off iMessage and test.

Reset the network

Resetting the network restores the default settings on the device. Be aware, Bluetooth pairing and Wi-Fi settings are deleted and will need to be readded. You will not lose data like pictures, videos, or text.

1. From the home screen, tap the Settings icon.
2. The settings section will open, scroll down until you see General and select it.

3. From the general screen, scroll down until you see the reset option. Select Reset.

 4. You will be taken to the reset screen. Select Reset Network Settings.

5. If your phone is password-protected, enter your code.  You will be taken to a new screen to reconfirm the network reset. Tap on Reset Network Settings and your phone will reset.

Up until 2 weeks ago my iPhone worked flawlessly from my home. Now however I am having problems calling on my iPhone and receiving IPhone calls.  When I dial a number, I get a "call failed" response, and I continue to get a "call failed" response each time I redial.  If I completely shut off the phone and start it up again, the iPhone works like it should.  What is the problem.

I can't send or receive text messages and my camera photos aren't backing up anywhere. Toolwhiz isn t working and I have to have photos downloaded for a very small business. Won't backup in gallery either.

The other night my boss sent our work schedules in a group message by text messaging. The message appeared in my inbox but when i opened it all it displayed was the message details. In the bottom left hand corner it said "retrieve". When i would select "retrieve", i would get a pop-up that read, "receiving message" and it would go away but i never received the message. A few minutes later i went into my inbox and i still had the same text with only the message details and it gave me the option to "retrieve" again. Tried multiple times, but never received the actual message. This morning i woke up and the same text i received with only the message details and an option to retrieve was in my inbox about 5 times. My boss only sent his message once but looking at my inbox you would of thought he sent the same message about 5 times. I tried to retrieve those also, but still got nothing. And now im not able to send, nor am i receiving any of my text, whether it be a standard text, group message, or picture message. When i compose a message and press send i get a pop-up that says message sending and soon after another one that says message delivered. I sent my son a text and asked him to also try to send me a text while we were sitting in the same room together and he never received my text, nor did i ever receive his text. Everything was working fine and i was able to send and receive text before i tried opening the group mesaage that was sent to me by my boss. What is going on?

I have no cellular service. Phone has “searching” where my bars are supposed to be. My bill is paid and I have turned it off and on numerous times.  I have an iPhone 5s and all other features are working on wireless. I just can’t make or receive calls. No one else on my account is having issues and I am in the same location I have always been.

Is anyone else having issues with their iPhone showing no service or searching on the status bar?
