Thank you for sharing details. After further research, I was able to identify some troubleshooting steps, which are effective in fixing this problem.

The first thing you will want to do is reset the Network Settings. To do this task, please follow the steps below:

• Go to Settings
• Select General
• Scroll to the bottom and select Reset
• Reset Network Settings
• Allow the device to reboot
• Finally, test the speed

In addition, you may want to take a look at the fantastic AT&T Troubleshoot & Resolve tool, which provides a detailed guide to perform additional steps. Make sure to select your phone’s make and model > Service/Network > Internet.

I perform a network setting reset regularly and even upgraded my plan, all in hopes to improve my speed. 0.98 Mbps download and 0.45 Mbps upload is extremely slow and I'm not getting the service I am investing in. I had to buy a new device to go to ATT because I had heard good things but my experience has been less than satisfactory. Is there anyone that can ACTUALLY identify and resolve this issue?

I feel the same . This useless network is not worth the price . Just another rip off .

I had the old unlimited plan. AT&T sales people convinced me to change it to the new unlimitted. First, they did not tell me that I’ll lose my $15/month discount from my employer. 

Second, at this spot that I’m sitting now, I could get 15Mbps with my old plan. But the new unlimited plan gets your consent for lower speeds. Now, I’m only getting 1.2Mbps. Same location. 

AT&T should be ashamed. They are losing customers like crazy. Their stock is at its lowest in the past 10 years. They are done for. 

I've done this before, it works, temporarily. I believe the issues are the towers my phone are connected to because at school (about 4 miles from where I live) my data's really fast with speeds from 50 to 100 Megabits per second. On the contrary, where I live they range from 1 to 4. On some days I am lucky enough to reach speeds up to 60 Mbps, but that only happened twice so far. 

I wonder if it's possible to request more ATT towers in my area despite there not being a considerable amount of customers in my region. I don't think it's fair, and I'll downgrade to a wifi or a limited plan to save money.
