Is there a major service outage in San Francisco?
No service in San Francisco area since 13 Aug.
My wife, with a different AT&T account, also has had severe disruption. Is there a major service outage?

I'm in SF (near west portal) and have had no problems these past two days.

Thanks much. I work in Pleasanton and have no coverage there, or on BART. I just returned home (also near West Portal), and still no conneciton. I rcv an "Emeergency Call ONly" error msg when I attempt a call.

Hmm. If your wife weren't also having problems, I would suspect a problem with your SIM chip. If both phones are getting the "emergency calls only" message, then AT&T's network is not recognizing your account!
