Coverage, droped calls

Why is it that for the past several months cell service has diminished quite a bit, I was always having the best coverage and service everywhere, now data so slow, calls are dropped and texts are not received even in the new york city  area. Its almost  as if at&t is operating like Sprint back in the days, I am considering changing carriers.

Hello @dannyrivera1506,

I understand how concerning it is seeing a sudden change in your services.  This is something we do not want our customers to experience. Let’s work together, and get this issue resolved!

Sometimes the connection between the phone and network needs to be refreshed. One of the best ways to accomplished this is by resetting the network settings.  If you have an iPhone, you will find this option in Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

Many Androids running Marshmallow have this option available by going to Settings > Reset.  It can differ depending on make/model, but I would be happy to research it for you.  Our Device Support page is a great place to find many settings on your phone.

Another option is remove the SIM card after powering off the phone completely> clean golden contacts > re-insert into the device > power back on, and test.

Should the previous steps did not resolve the issue, please visit our Troubleshoot and Resolve tool.  This is like having tech support available whenever you need them! Please select your phone’s make and model, then go to Service/network issues > Phone Calls.

Please let me know if these steps work for you! Have an amazing day!
