Cell tower strength issues

We have had no problems with cell strength in our home until this year. Recently we had to hook up our microcell tower to use our phones in the house. It helped but may be affecting our internet signal. Now the service/signal strength is so poor in our neighborhood that I can't listen to anything (stream music, sermons etc) that I use to when I go for a walk. Others in our neighborhood have the same complaints. What has changed with the towers around here?

 Hello @Dlmize,

I am sorry to hear you are have been experiencing low signal strength as of recently in your area. I would love to take a look into what can be causing this and provide a few resources to troubleshoot and report it!

I would first recommend enabling Wi-Fi calling as an option to improve your service at home. Highlights of this option can be accessed here in out Wi-Fi- Calling support article. This will actually work better than a Microcell due to there would not be needed any added equipment it since Wi-Fi calling is usually enabled in newer cell phones.  You will be able to use our Device Support Tool to help assist in enabling this feature (if available for your device)

Also, you will be able to report this issue by downloading our Mark the Spot App. AT&T utilizes this feedback to better target network optimization and enhancements. Problems are clustered together to highlight areas for investigation. Our Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool will guide you to troubleshoot your service concern to make this is not caused by your devices. Please go through above steps and let us know how it goes!

If, above steps are not able to help resolve your concern please private message us at @ATTHelp with your full name, account number, phone number and zip code this is happening at to best assist.

Hope this is of help today! Have a great rest of your day!

I have an LG G4 H810.  While not the latest and greatest, it is on an AT&T 4g network and works well except when I am at home. The network signal strength inside my home is -116dB which is absolutely pathetic.  I have read that -100dB is basically no signal and my experience bears that out as calls frequently drop repeatedly.  Going outside increases the strength only slightly to -112 which is still pathetic. Connecting to my WiFi @ home makes no difference whatsoever. (We have Uverse internet with DirectTV so there is no bandwidth consumption from the TV interfering with the wireless network).

Based on this info, it seems that the signal strength from the local tower must be very low so I do not know how to improve service at home. Thoughts?
