Can't make or receive calls in Lexington NC 27295

My phone and my wife's phone stopped being able to make or receive call from home about a week ago. We can text just fine, and we can make and receive calls when we're away from home, but we lose that ability as soon as we get close to home. The closest tower to us is on Mt. Carmel Rd. off of Hwy 150. We have called tech support a few times and gone through the turn the phone off routine with no luck. The fact that both phones work fine everywhere else makes me think there's a problem with the cell tower.

Follow up. I drove toward the two nearest towers. (One is 2.2 miles away and the other is 5 miles away) After going a few hundred yards in either direction, I can make and receive call again. When I get closer to home, both phones  lose the ability to make and receive calls even though texting still works. Both phones show 4 or 5 bars even when they're not working. Could there be some kind of signal interference in my neighborhood? Any ideas? Both of these phones worked fine for over a year and then stopped on Friday, Sept 8th.

Hello @tyro999!

Not being able to make or receive phone calls from your home can be disturbing. The only means of communication I have is my cellular device. I am happy to help!

Our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool is a great resource to use for any type of issue you may experience with your device or network. For a more personal experience, please login using your myAT&T credentials. Once you are logged in, select the device you are using, and then under Service/network issues, select Phone calls. Please follow the prompts thereafter.

Another great option is to use is Wi-Fi calling on your capable device. This provides the ability to make and receive phone calls over a Wi-Fi connection in your home. Please refer to our Device Support Tool for step by step instructions on how to activate this great feature. Click Change device> Tutorials> Calling> Wi-Fi Calling.

If you are still having issues, please send us a private message to @ATTCares with your full name, phone number, and your home address. By providing this information, we will be able to check everything thoroughly on our end.

Thank you for reaching out to us here on the Community Forums! Have a fantastic day!

I sent the requested private message to @ATTCares, but as of this morning it is still showing as unread. It's now been two weeks without phone service.

Another follow up, just in case anyone at AT&T is paying attention. I had a friend come by my house with his AT&T phone and it acted the same way mine does. Full signal (5 bars LTE  4G) Texting works fine, but no calls in or out. Any ideas at all?

Two messages sent to @ATTHelp are still unread. Hmmm, maybe AT&T doesn't care after all.

I finally heard back from ATTCares. They said that there's a known problem with a tower in my area. No word on when or if it will be fixed. My wife already gave up and switched to Verizon but I'm still holding out a small bit of hope.
