Can I use LTE only and not 4G?

I want to put my phone on LTE only. My phone keeps dropping to 4G when not necessary because of 2 apps that I have running use constant data and the phone won't go back to LTE and sometimes after a phone call it will be stuck on 4G. The only way to go back to LTE is to cycle airplane mode. 99% of the time I'm in a good LTE area so I want to only use LTE.

Hello @bobo3737,

Thanks for reaching out with your question! I will be more than happy to help with your data connection question!

Depending on the signal strength nearby and your device, the signal could act much differently. If you have a newer device, you can attempt to set your phone’s HD Voice setting for Data only. This way, the LTE frequencies are not used to carry the voice signals and they would remain on the lower networks.

I will also be sending you a private message just so we can check and make sure the area is not experiencing any problems and dive a bit deeper into this. You can check for my message using the envelope icon in the top right of screen.

I hope to hear from you soon!
