Calls from the USA to Canada

With the Canadian Roaming Bonus are calls from the USA to Canada free also? Do the Canadian phones get charged for international calling charges?

Calls to Canada are not part of the Canada Roaming bonus but if you have that, your base calling plan should include calls to Canada also. Whether or not the call receiver is charged depends on their carrier but likely not.

@Jekny1952 @sandblaster
All cell phones in Canada do charge for incoming and outgoing calls,unless you got a minutes plan .

Local incoming /outgoing calls will be apply within your calling zone,Long distance and air time will be charge if you out of your calling zone.
For example,Say your local calling area is Vancouver BC,you are in Vancouver BC, you make a call within Vancouver BC area,that is a local call,you received a call from Vancouver BC or international,that still got charge as a local call.

If you take your Vancouver BC phone to Calgary AB,you called a local Calgary AB number,that is a local call,but if you received a call(this apply to calls from Calgary AB) or making a call anywhere (not apply to Calgary AB) ,local air time and long distance will apply.

In one word,Canadian phone user will get charge for everything!!! Smiley Frustrated

@Jekny1952 I'd say that the Canadian just gets billed for the call from the US like any other call (regardless of where it's from), if they pay per minute or unlimited or have a pool of minutes (it uses that).

They could be on some weird bizarro plan, but that's really up to them to check.

 Yes,that's really up to them to check.
With the big 5 in Westen Canada,Rogers,Bell,Saktel,MTS & Telus,

that is the way how they charge their customers making/receiving calls as my post above.
 Also why I use more SMS & Data @ home

  SMS @  40 cents to sent & receive
  10 MB of data @  Can $1  Smiley SadSmiley SurprisedRobot Sad

@adidaskid808 I think what @Jekny1952 was asking is are they getting charged extra for an incoming international call at a higher charge than a normal incoming call.

@Gary L ,
@Jekny1952 ,
 If that is what you like to know.Easy answer.
 With all the big 5 telcoms in Canada.
 You will NOT get charge extra for incoming international calls if you're in your local calling area.
 You WILL get charge for extra for incoming international calls if you're not in your local calling area.

 The above do not apply to Wind mobile Canada! I think that is the weird bizerro network @Gary L talking about .Smiley Tongue

@adidaskid808 It's seems like an easy answer...

But are they paying more because it's international?

or is it the same as other non-local calls when not in your local area?

@Gary L , @Jekny1952 ,
                          Just to make it more clear,
                         This only apply to CANADA,using Canadian cell phone network like Rogers      wireless,Bell ,Telus ....etc
                         No ,they will not get charge for more even it is international when they are

                         in the local calling area receiving the call.

                         UNLESS!! You are out of your local calling area in Canada.
                         Most voice call minutes plans in Canada only cover local calls minutes
                        ( Local calling area is different for each numbers !!)[PLEASE CHECK]
                         You will be charge for Canadian long distance and airtime.
                          Even the calls you pick up is an international call.

                          If you are roaming in another part of the world  ,

                          That could be an expensive call without any roaming plan.

@adidaskid808 But it's not going to cost more than other calls that cost when outside their calling area.

They don't pay extra for the international over the other calls that incur a charge, it's the same charge as other calls that would incur a charge, right?

@Gary L
  From the CS of Rogers Wireless, Bell & Telus.
  They keep on saying you will get charge for Canadian long distance and Air time
 while you're out of your local calling area in Canada to receive a call.
   So, they don't pay extra for receiving international over the other calls that incur a charge.It 's the same charge as other calls that would incur a charge.
