How do I transfer my contacts if my screen on old phone is black, i cant see buttons to push to transfer.

Are your contacts in a "cloud account", such as Hotmail (Live), GMail, Yahoo, etc?
This is often the case, if you linked your phone to the email/contacts, most of these apps keep the two "in sync".
If not, then your next step is to try a USB cable. If you can direct-connect it (to a PC/laptop/tablet/phone/whatever, and you know where your "PIN" is on on the screen, you can access the phone file-system that way (where/how varies, depending on the OS/version), and pull the contacts over to the working device.
If you can't figure out the PIN, then it gets a bit harder, technically, to gain access.
