Can an AT&T Prepaid card be used to purchased items from AT&T.com?

Question

Can an AT&T Prepaid card (like the ones you can purchase on Walmart.com and they e-mail you the numbers) be used to purchase items such as chargers or cases from AT&T.com?  I'm trying to save a trip to the AT&T store to buy a gift card.  Feedback would be much appreciated.

No. A prepaid card can only be used for prepaid service.

Once the account and phone number is set up with your new phone, you can pay by doing one of the following with your prepaid refill card:

To pay with an AT&T PREPAID card (includes GoPhone Refill Card) from myAT&T:

Select Make a Payment.
Enter the AT&T PREPAID card PIN.
Select Make a Payment Now.
Follow the prompts to complete making a payment.

To use *Services to pay an AT&T PREPAID balance:

Call *888* + AT&T PREPAID card PIN number + # (example: *888*1234567899874#)
Press Send.
