can i use AT&T gophone with other serive provider's sim card

Hi, I have AT&T prepaid gophone samsung A157 which does not have any contract (i have perchased 3 months back). i tried to insert different SIM card in the phone but it is asking me for unlock code .

I was assuming, As this is NO contract phone it is unlocked and can be used with anyother SIM card of different service provider.!

can anybody help me how to get this PIN and how to use this phone with different SIM

I need to use this phone with differnt SIM as i am going out of US and will need to use local SIM there.

Thanks in advance

Got the solution.... here what i did:  I called AT & T and they said my phone is already full paid but have network lock because of which it cannot work with non at&t network / SIM but as i request to unlock this as it was non contract prepaid phone they have provided me unlock code and it worked for me.

now can use my phone with 3g service with non at&t SIM.

You need to buy a full price phone

You need to get an unlock code .
I don't know if AT&T would help.
If you can get it unlocked, your phone will only work on 2G in most part of the world.
That's why  Osttiroler ask you to buy a full price phone Smiley Indifferent

If it's a GoPhone it needs to be active for 6 months before they unlock it...
