netflix compatibility

When they sold me on U-verse over Direct TV, I specifically asked if I could get Netflix on my TV.  I was told yes by 2 different people.  My installer said no and when I called to add the movie package, the specialist said yes.  He was going to transfer me to tech support, but informed me they were going to charge me to tell me how to do it.  Are you kidding me at&t?!  DOes anyone have any idea how this would work?  It was suggested I call Netflix and they had no idea.  At&t, you need to properly train your sales people in what is and is not possible for U-verse!!!

Your WII is connected to the TV & has software to communicate with Netflix? Yes!

All you need is a connection to the internet. You have U-verse internet in addition to TV? Yes!

Does the WII have wireless networking? You can connect to U-verse wireless. But, wired is better,

Connect a cat5 cable from the WII to the RG (modem). If the connection from the RG to the Box next to the TV is COAX, you can plug the WII cat5 cable into the network jack on the at&t box.

This is the peer to peer forum for Uverse subscribers.  I get Netflix on my tv through my Wii game console.  The only other way to view Netflix that I know of is over the internet, as far as Uverse is concerned.  Unless you have an internet capable television or a Wii those are the only two ways to get Netflix afik.  If someone has another suggestion they will be along.  I am sorry to hear you were misinformed by the csrs that you spoke to.

Yes, you can get Netflix either through the xbox-360 with a Live subscription, a Roku, a Blu-ray player, etc. It is up to you which third party device you use to watch Netflix. They even have hd sets now that have the capability through apps on them to watch Netflix, etc.

Receiving Netflix is not a U-Verse issue.  You can receive Netflix with any high speed internet connection and a device that connects to your Netflix account.  I have a HD Roku and it works great.  I have it plugged directly into my U-Verse DVR to receive the internet stream from Netflix.  My Roku is plugged into my receiver using HDMI and the receiver is plugged into the tv using HDMI.

Google TV, Apple TV and Playstation 3 will also allow Netflix playback.

No problem.  You will need to download the Netflix app to your PS3.  Just do a one-time login process and you're good to go.  That's what I use to watch Netflix.

I am a simpleton...  I have a cable bringing a signal from my att uverse modem, through the walls, to my att uverse box next to my tv.    So, what exactly would I need to plug into my WII console to be able to stream netflix into my tv?  Something from the uverse box to my wii?  thanks for any help.
