Coax, Cat5, or jumpercables?
While I was attempting to sort out a goof when my DSL was shut down 4 days before the u-verse hook up I asked some questions about u-verse. I was told a guy would have to come to my home to do the cable. !?! Cable? This will be a coax cable? This guy didn't know. Another tech said that it would be a Cat5 cable.
Anyone here know what exactly kind of medium is going to run between my house and the pole? Hook up is tonight and no guy has been around yet.

Sounds more like he's getting Uverse internet w/a3600 or 3801 VDSL modem and will have to run cat5e from the NID to new Uverse outlet.
Unless the old drop line can't sustain a dial tone, it'll be used, as they work just fine for Uverse. 😉
