Call Blocking for one phone

I have ATT U-Verse.  I was told I could block annoying calls by dialing *77# but I am reading on the website that I have to pay for call blocking and it doesn't work for long distance calls.  Is this correct?  Seems unfair to have to pay for this service for one phone when I am bundling my TV, Internet and Home Phone.  Please advise?

@Summernole - Since you have other u-vers svc, you must be talking about u-verse voice. There are various fetures INCLUDED with u-verse voice at no addl charge. The 77 feature is anonymous call blocking (must be based on the CID including ANONYMOUS).

Features link - https://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB401850&ct=9000083&pv=1&title=U-verse+Voice+Calling+Features#fbid=xiZOj_B58iA

You can also block specific numbers. If you want more blocking consider nomorobo.com.
