Giga Power very slow at night.

GigaPower slows down dramatically from 7pm-12pm, during the day everything is fine. I have Gigapower installed for over month now it does this every night from 7:00pm-12:00pm. I had 6 teachs come out who replaced the router 3 times, checked the wires, replaced the outside box and still nothing changes. During the day I get 950 download and upload and my ping is between 1-2. During the 7-12pm I cant do anything on the internet because everything buffers and takes long time to load page. This happens on both wireless and wired. I have tried to restart the device with no help. I called to GigaPower tech yesterday, he said during these times its peak time and there is nothing they can do. I think they need to send better bandwith to support the neighborhood. I have upload the picture to show you.

I am also an att gigapower customer affected by this issue. It seems as if at&t does not have a strong enough network to support all of their gigapower customers at peak times.

I've been having the same issue.  I'm an IT professional with considerable skills in general networking.  So I've troubleshooted out the possibility that it's ME.  I also telecommute along with my entire office.  3 of us plus others in my subdivision all have the same problem at the same time.  That there in itself should prove that it's not individual installations or hardware.

I've had my service since Feb and it was glorious right up until July.  Not sure what changed, but ever since it's sucked in varying degrees typically at night.  On an occation it was bad during the day to.

I'm not sure if any ATT techs watch these forums, but I have a mountain of proof.

For example I'll include traceroutes from 3 locations on the internet first at night, then again during the day.  It's clear that ATT is the problem.

For me the bigger issue is latency over connection speed unless I'm streaming a 1080p or 4k movie from Vudu or something.  You'll notice at night the "ping" aka "latency" from any speedtest including the one on att.net/speedtest has a latency in the high 40+ milliseconds.  This coorilates the the 7th hop from the trace routes above:

7  12.83.82.145 (12.83.82.145)  49.187 ms

   12.83.82.137 (12.83.82.137)  46.988 ms  47.836 ms

During the day when things are fine:

7  12.83.82.137 (12.83.82.137)  6.499 ms

   12.83.82.145 (12.83.82.145)  2.997 ms

   12.83.82.137 (12.83.82.137)  3.024 ms

I checked one of the addresses to see who owns it, it's AT&T.

All of you, contact ATT Uverse Care on the link in my signature below, by Need Help?

Send them a Private Message, on this link, and they should be able to give the help needed to solve your Uverse service Gigapower evening slowdown problems.

Include your name, account #, email address and a good phone # (land or cell) and time to contact you on.

Check the blue PM envelope, upper right on every page, for their reply, possibly by email instead. They can do more than any phone rep and stick w/it till it's done. Good luck 😉

So I did as you suggested and was sent a generic response that clearly shows that they haven't even read my post.  I've been through all of this.  As I stated above this isn't an issue with my house as I expressed in my post.  So how exactly is this better?

Sorry for my pointed response, but this is beyond fustrating.

Sorry to read of the trouble you are having. Please answer the questions below and reply back when you can.

Do you have any 3rd party routers, switches or time capsules connected?

How many total devices are connected at one time?

Around the time this started happening, were there any storms? Loss of service? New equipment added?

What is around the modem? Any speakers or other electronics?

Where is the modem located? Carpet? Cabinet?

Do you have see any loss of TV service?

Does the modem blink red?

Again, please answer all questions above. They will allow us to determine the best course of action.
