voice mail setup problem

purchased a SIM card and on the 8Gb plan and using it in my unlocked Samsung Galaxy s4

everything works fine, data, email, phone calls and hot spot

problem is that I'm in canada now and realized i do not have my voice mail setup

when i press the #1 key, the prompt says something like the person you called has voice mail that is not set up yet.

i noticed the phone is obviously in Roaming mode 'R' in the top right corner.

Is the problem that i have to be back the US to do set up my voicemail

Re: voice mail setup problem

Hey there @fortunato1968!

Whenever you do return to the US from Canada follow these steps to set up your voicemail:

  1. From your wireless phone, press and hold 1 or the Voicemail key.
  2. Select your language preference.
  3. Create a 7 to 15-digit password.
  4. Select your preferred greeting.
  5. Listen to the brief voicemail tutorial.

If you hang up before the tutorial completes, it will play again the next time you check voicemail.

Also, please be sure to set up your voicemail within 60 days of activation or it’ll be automatically removed from your account.

We hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
