Several performance issues after Samsung Galaxy s5 Android 4.4.4 Update

I got the 4.4.4 update on Feb5th and since then the performance of the phone has seriously degraded. There is lag in responsiveness on touch, especially when typing. Changing keyboards hasn't helped.

It is no more possible to stream any videos from Netflix or youtube or any other streaming service.

Overall performance of phone has seriously degraded and battery usage has increased.

I have created sufficient space on the card, but that has not helped. Clearing cache's, restarting etc has not helped either.
