Ims service has stopped. Ims not registered.

I have been having call issues with my phone for a week now. When I restart  my phone it always says ims stopped working and in my settings it says ims not reregister. I can text and no issues data/internet wise. Chatted with Att, no help and they said there was no network issue. What can  I do, what could be wrong?

Hello @Lane3526,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention via the Community Forums! I would be more than happy to look into this for you.

When this issue started, were any changes made to the device or account? If so, please let me know. In the meantime, please try our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool; it’s like having your own personal technical support assistant! Once here, choose your device and select Phone Calls under Service/network issues. Answer all the questions as accurately as possible to receive the best resolution.

Resetting your network settings is a great way to troubleshoot issues like this. On your device, navigate to Settings > Backup & Reset > Reset Network Settings. Once done, restart the phone. You may need to re-enter your Wi-Fi password to connect to Wi-Fi.

Also try removing and reinserting your SIM card, as this will force your device to reestablish a connection to our towers. For instructions on how to do this, use our Device Support Tool. Just like before, choose your phone then go to Learn how to use > About your device > Insert SIM/Phone Assembly. Ensure your device is completely powered off before removing the SIM.

If you need additional assistance, don’t hesitate to let us know!

Hello @Lane3526,

Thanks for completing the suggested troubleshooting steps. Did you try the Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool as well? Also, your new phone should not have any issues.

Hello @Lane3526,

Congratulations on the new phone! It is very odd you are still encountering the issue, so I will be sending you a private message. This way I may check for issues on our end. This can be found in your Forum’s Inbox located in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.

I look forward to your response.

I am having the same issue. I have a Samsung S6 edge plus AT&T Unlocked GSM BYOP. I switched to AT&T a few weeks ago and my IMS registration status states " Not Registered"  I have a hard time sending/receiving messages. The only calls I can make are to AT&T.

Same exact problem! Galaxy Samsung S8+. One minute I was talking on the phone and the next I have a small circle located where the antenna bars usually are. The extremely frustrating part is calling AT&T and going by the store after a max of 5 minute conversation. The only resolution is for me to buy a $1,000 New phone because mine is three months out of warranty. And when I ask for a manager because all I really want is tech support. Not someone reading from a list I covered with online tech support. He is too busy to walk from the back and it will be an hour before he can find his way twenty ft down a hallway. Since then I have researched and discovered. IMS Registration Status is "not registered". When viewing the menu brought up by #*#*4636*#*# I see the cellular radio is off. Which is 80% more knowledge I had than the day previous. When I spent all day talking to AT&T... ok ok rant over

I am having the same issue.  I bought an Unlocked Moto G6.  Experienced the same issue.  I even bought a new AT&T Sim Card.

I can text message, browse the web.  Only thing I can not do is make calls.

I'm my settings, it says IMS not registered.  Going to bring my phone in to AT&T to see if they can register IMS.

I was able to resolve my issue by inputting the following: #*#*4636*#*#

My case is closed.
