Hello @Chuckyd87,

Thank you for reaching out on the Community Forums.  I recently had to block a number on my daughter’s phone as they would not stop harassing her.  I would be happy to help.

There are a few different ways to block a number from calling a phone; Call Protect, on the device, and Smart Limits.  I will go over a bit of each, so you can pick which option works best for you.

Call Protect

  • This is a free app available to AT&T customers with compatible phones.  It not only allows you to block a number for 30 days on a cellular level, it also blocks known fraud numbers and alerts you to suspected spam.  You can learn more about it in this article.

Device block

  • On most devices you are able to block numbers.  Please visit our Device Support page to start.  Make sure your device is selected, and then go to Learn how to use > Calling > Block or Unblock.  This will block on the device only, which means they will still be able to leave voicemails.

Smart Limits

  • This is a paid service which allows you to block numbers on a cellular level, permanently.  It also comes with other benefits, such as usage limits, call restrictions, and more.  Please find out more on our website.

I hope this information helps, and please have a wonderful weekend!
