Address Book sync disable

Figured out how to disable address book sync on the addressbook.att.net site but now I want to stop my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7 Active) from continuing to attempt to sync. Any idea how to stop that.

Hello @bsilvey!

Welcome to the Community Forums! Thank you for sharing your question in regards of the AT&T Address Book feature. It will be my pleasure to help!

To disable the automatic sync option from your phone, please follow these simple steps:

  • Open Address Book/Contacts
  • Tap on Menu
  • Uncheck the Automatic Sync option
  • Restart your device and make sure automatic sync has been disabled successfully.

In addition, keep in mind AT&T is retiring this feature. You will receive SMS notifications 60 and 30 days in advance before this service shuts down. To learn how to export your contacts, please follow this link.

I hope this information helps! Thank you and have a nice day!

After hitting settings "AT&T Address Book" is not my next option.  How else can I turn off the "Auto Sync" function?

My next options after settings are:

1.  Airplane mode

2.  Tethering & Mobile Hotspots

3.  VPN

4. Cellular networks
