Adding a second parent to Secure Family

I am the primary parent on a Secure Family group.  I want to add my wife as an additional parent, but it will only allow me to add her as a Child.  Can you please post the instructions how a primary parent can add a secondary parent?  Thanks!

Hi @Bpajer,

Thanks for reaching out! We understand that you want to add a second parent to your Secure Family app. In order to do so, you'll want to make sure your wife has her own user ID for her wireless phone number. Next:

  1. Go to myAT&T, then Profile.
  2. Select your wireless phone account.
  3. Go to Account Users, then + Add Secondary Users and follow the prompts.

You can find more information about managing the Secure Family app here. Let us know if you have any further questions!

You have to add the other parent as an authorized user on your myAT&T account. Then put the Secure Family app on both phones. The primary parent will set up the app on their phone, excluding the secondary parent's phone number. The secondary parent will make their own my AT&T ID and password, use that to log into the app, set up the account on their phone and include all phone numbers. Make sure both parents have their location available to everyone or only parents. This will allow both parents to see each other and all children and both be labeled as parents.

I realize this was a long time ago, but I went through all the steps.  Added my wife as an authorized user.  It wants to link the accounts so she can see the bill, which is fine.  But when you link the accounts you cannot be 2 different parents on Secure Family.  Any help out there?

Here’s an interesting thought. What if the parents aren’t married anymore, like nearly half of the people in the United States… while I have a good relationship with my ex, I am not adding her as an authorized user…this needs fixed…it’s a dealbreaker…
