ATT NVG510 channel choices are 1-11 and 'automatic' but wifi analyzer recommends channel 13 or 14

Lots of super-weirdo phone interference (dropped and choppy calls, sounds like fax machine or turbines, i can hear others but they can't hear me...) and random slow as mud spots in internet speeds; googling suggested investigating the signals/channels being used in area and choosing one that is better...

 

so i downloaded wifi analyzer app for my phone, which shows strength of nearby wifi in a graph format, and recommended i use channel 13 or 14.

 

http://192.168.1.254/cgi-bin/wconfig.ha gives me the router config page for 'home -> wifi -> and informs me mine is set to 'automatic'.

in trying to change the channel to 13 or 14, the only choices i can make are channels 1 through 11, and 'automatic'.

 

is there any way around this?

Hello @desterno,

 

Whne you experience interference and internet signal drop, this can be concerning.  I will be happy to help!

 

Your modem/router may need to refresh it’s network connection.  Please unplug the device for around a minute before plugging it back in.  Wait a few moments for all the lights to turn green, and then test the connection.
