My visual voicemail has not worked for 4 days

for 4 days i have notice that visual voicemail is not working. i have tried what remedies are available on line but no success. also some steps are not available on my screen menu. i did nothing - to my knowledge- to cause this stoppage. can you please help me ? samsung j 210 galaxy express 3.  i am VERY much a novice so please  help me at the most rudimentary level.  thank you

Hello @gatorteeth,

 

We can definitely provide you with some steps to Reset your voicemail password. You’ll need to be in an AT&T wireless coverage area to create a new voicemail password, then please follow these steps: 

  1. Go to Account overview > My Wireless.
  2. Scroll and select the device you want to manage.
  3. Select Reset voicemail password and follow the prompts.
  4. You’ll receive a temporary password via text message - use that to access your voicemail and change your temporary password to something more personal to you.

Try to change the password again, using the new code provided. If you receive the same message this time, then go into your myAT&T account again to reset the password. Let us know how it goes this time.

Hi, @gatorteeth,

 

Let's take a look at this. Have you checked to see if the app needs updating? On your Galaxy Express 3, in My apps, scroll to Visual Voicemail. If it's marked Update, then tap Update.

 

If that doesn't help, could you let us know if you're receiving an error message when you try to access Visual Voicemail?

this is strange i had tried 2-3 methods i found online to remedy the problem but they did not work.. i did as you asked and there was no instructions prompt at all. so i went back and checked the voicemail in my usual manner and it now seems ok. last i checked it was not. so thanks for waving your magic wand.! lol i have tried resetting my password but cannot get it to recognize new one. can you help me with that ?

i did as you asked and
a few minutes later tried calling 1 and keeping it pressed for a few seconds to get to voicemail. when prompted i entered the new 4 digit code and it said that is NOT the code. what gives ?

i tried it a new way-- yours - and it seems to work. thank you for tolerating a novice. it took 3 different methods before it took.
