Hello @Notextpossible,

I can certainly understand your concern in reaching this error message. I would be more than happy to assist you today!

I would recommend using the international code (+1) and attempt to send a message with the full phone number including the area code following. If you are texting and international number you may have international blocks set up for your devices plan. You can always message us @ATTHelp and we can take a look for you. This may be the same is you are attempting to text from outside the USA as well.

I hope you find this helpful. If you have any additional questions or concerns feel free to let us know! Have a wonderful day!

Tried your solution…. still didn’t work. Can text friend just fine from husband’s phone (we’re on the same plan). Always get the following error message:

11470XXXX Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code. 004800690020004B00650072007200792026002000730074006900
or…

470XXXX Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code

or
1414470XXXX Error Invalid Number. Please re-send using a valid 10 digit mobile number or valid short code.

Is not an international #
