I suspect you mean stream saver? It is still rolling out slowly and is not available to all plans yet but the only reason you would not want it on is if videos were unwatchable when it was on.
Absolutely meant stream saver. Was curious because I know you're supposed to be able to stream DIRECTV data free, but we keep using data when we stream our DIRECTV.
Stream saver reduces the size of the item being streamed so that it doesn't use as much data as it would if it were higher quality. It has nothing to do with DirecTv and streaming DirecTv data free.
