If the whole text thread was deleted the only way to get it back is if you sync’d it with a backup service. For iPhones this would be iCloud and for Androids either Google backup or AT&T Message Backup & Sync.
The text disappeared while you were writing the text is unable to be retrieved as well. You will need to compose the text again. If you have any further messaging issues, please use our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool. Make sure your device is selected, and then for the issue choose Messaging.
