Welcome to the Community Forums! I can definitely understand how this has become a cause of concern for you, but I would be more than willing to help.
We have an article on AT&T plans that exclude hotspot tethering. Normally, you can see the disclaimer at the bottom of the plans page stating the exceptions. Feel free to go ahead and change your plan to one which suits your needs, and I will be sending you a private message; this way, we can get everything in order.
