This is a great question which I am more than happy to assist with! I checked on this for you and found we are currently adopting RCS with useful features such as Wi-Fi calling, NumberSync and some others however there is no information about AT&T Currently adding the ability to support RCS with Google Messenger. When this becomes available AT&T will inform everyone.
Have a great rest of your day!

Could you kindly inform AT&T to stop making their customers suffer and be on board with the future? Universal RCS is the future of text messaging. Deal with it and adapt. Proprietary implementations of this that only work within the carrier are doing nothing but stunting the growth of said technology. I have no friends or family on AT&T, so your version of "Advanced Messaging" is entirely worthless to me. Be a part of the future or be left behind. T-Mobile coverage has improved in my area the last couple years, and they've already announced they will be implementing the Universal RCS profile in Q2 this year.

I want to add my voice to the list of customers who want AT&T to adopt RCS Universal Profile in the US. I'm a long time AT&T customer and have some loyalty to the company, but if no plans are announced soon, I will be switching to T-Mobile who has announced they will be rolling out RCS Universal Profile second quarter of this year (not to mention seem to have better data plan rates as well). With over 55 carriers adopting this consumer-friendly standard worldwide, I don't understand why AT&T can't even tell its customers when/if it plans to adopt the standard. Like I said, I have some loyalty to AT&T as a long-time customer, but when competitors offer better products, I won't hesitate to switch. I'm thankful there are choices in the marketplace.

Stubborn tech companies always lost the battle in this Tech Era, Example is BlackBerry and Nokia, AT & T has to decide which boat they're going to choose.

This is FatCat, AT&T CEO. Rest be assured that while I'm replying to you all on my clamshell phone from T-Mobile, my wallet swells with every counting day that I continue to milk the SMS/MMS ticket to oblivion. I don't know your concerns about RCS and frankly don't care. What is Google? What is progress? What is the 21st century? These are all existential questions that I have no expertise in answering for you. But I'll leave it to my script regurgitating service reps to handle your concerns. Do continue to pay your inflated phone bill in time. Thanx.
