Can I use my phone in Cuba w/o buying international day pass?

Yes. In fact the international day pass does not include Cuba. You pay “per use” rates. Calls are $3/minute, data is $2.05/mb, texts are $0.50 per sent text. Be careful, data charges add up quickly. Best to leave data roaming off.

@Carlevarom I want to emphasize that's $2.05 per MB. 


That works out to ~$2,000.00 per GB. 

Even if you only use 100 MB, that's still $200.00-ish.

 

I don't know about Cuba, but when I'm in Costa Rica, I pay for incoming calls even if I ignore them and they go to voicemail (I set them to auto-forward to my Google Voice number so they don't even ring, but I get the messages).
