Text Message Dialogue

Good morning,

Just curious, can authorities really get their hands on your text message dialogue with a subpeona? And, if they do, can they see emojicons and such? I am just curious as to HOW much they can see if they do request your text history- such as dialogue, emojicons, etc. Also, can they request your DATA and track what apps you had, etc.

Any positive feedback is welcome,

Thank you!

Hi @diamondcowgirl

Our National Compliance Center has no way to retrieve SMS records, either with or without a subpoena or court order. SMS content is not retained in the normal course of business. Once an SMS message has been delivered, the content is no longer available. The only exception would be if the customer has AT&T Messages on their account, the customer has the ability to backup and store their messaging content on the cloud. A court order is required by law enforcement to obtain that content.

I hope this helps!

Charise
