I am currently on an unlimited data plan and I was wondering if I would be charged more if I turned on my mobile hotspot for a laptop or another device.
You'd have to move to a different plan, most likely a Mobile Share Value. The unlimited plan doesn't allow tethering.
I left my old (grandfathered) unlimited plan a few years back, as I needed tethering for work-related travel and such. I find my MSV plan to be workable, we share a plan in our family, and with rollover, we make it work on busy months, and accumulate on non-busy ones (obviously every-other).
