Switch from mobile share value plan?

Hi,
Hope this is the right place for this type of question...

I will soon be in the market to add another Phone line for my youngest and am looking for some advice.

I currently have a Mobile Share Value plan that received the “bonus” increase to 35GB/mo. I’m currently paying

$110- 25% discount + 3 lines @ $20/line = ~$145/ mo. I believe after I add the 4th line, the cost will be ~$165/mo.

If I look at the website, I see that the AT&T Unlimited Extra plan looks to be ~$160/mo for 4 lines.

Both have mobile hotspot (Unlimited Extra is only for 15 gb/line, but that’s enough), and I’m okay with SD streaming since we use streamsaver anyway). So it looks like for about the same $ per month, I can get more data. And since I need to get hardware (iPhone XR or iPhone 11) I might be able to take advantage of one of the deals that are starting to show up since they seem to require an unlimited plan.

Am I missing something here? I’ve had this particular plan for a while and every time I’ve checked in the past, it was better than other available options, but not any more?

Thanks,

J

You didn’t miss a thing.  Just make sure that when you add the new line, You purchase the new phone on the new line. If you would prefer your child to have a hand me down phone swap the Sim cards after the new phone is activated on the new line.

Hello @Jonoaken,

We can definitely assist you with adding another phone line to your wireless account. You can follow the steps at this link to Buy a device and add a line to your account. We also recommend checking out our article on how to Compare and change wireless plans. This will allow you to see your current plan, compare it with our other plans to get a side-by-side view and decide which one works best for you. Let us know if this helps.
