Having low storage space is never good. Luckily, there are plenty of options to move your files and other data so it isn’t lost! I will be more than happy to help with your device!
There can be a number of reasons why it isn’t allowing you to move the information over. It could be a default application on the device where it has to stay on the internal storage, or it may not have an active internet connection to transfer the files.
Most phones can be connected to a computer or laptop and have their files transferred there instead. This can be especially helpful if you suspect there may be signal or sync issues with a backup option you normally use.
For Android devices, if you have an external SD card to transfer your files to, you can perform this by going to Apps > MyFiles > select an option > tap the menubutton which will bring up some options and select the desired files you wish to move. Once you select the files, tap the menubutton once more and select Move > SD Card.
Google Drive has an excellent article, which can help with ensuring it is setup correctly and has enough space for the files you wish to transfer over.
Please let me know if this information helps!
