Removing smart limits from a phone

Good afternoon. I have a question regarding smart limits. My line was through my ex husband's plan, we recently split up, but are still legally married.  My ex-husband added it to my line in order to cyberstalk me while he still had control of my line on his account. There is a history of domestic violence and he refused for a long time to release the line to me so I could open my own account. He has since released the line and I have my own account, but he mysteriously still knows information only available via my text messages.  What can I do about this and how can I tell if he is using smart limits, or another hidden spying app??

Hello @vruss1234.

Once there has been a Transfer of Billing Responsibility, Smart Limits from your ex’s account would no longer apply on yours.

In terms of spyware, the best way to be safe is to factory reset the phone. Check out our tutorials for Apple or Samsung. If you have a different device, select ‘Change device’ at the top next to the device listed, and then search for ‘factory reset.’ Be sure to save all personal pictures and information before doing the reset.

We also recommend changing your passwords for your phone related accounts. If you have further questions, let us know what device you have so that we can give you more specific answers. Thanks for reaching out to us at Forums!

As supoort mentioned there are other ways to see your activity.  AT&T messages can be stopped by changing your ATT user name and password.  Changing all your passwords and adding 2 step authorization to as many accounts possible.  Email, iTunes and financial.  Email is a common way to access and adding 2 step allows you a chance to review and terminate devices used in the past.
