    Recieving texts through email?

    Hello all.

    1. I understand that you can send free text messages through this site, is that correct? Where?

    2. If this is true, where does the text go if the reciever replies to the text? Would it go directly to your phone, or to an email, etc.?

    3. Is it possible to recieve free texts on my computer from a phone so we can chat back and forth without me having to be charged?

Thanks for any of the help you can give me.

After logging in to AIM Express:

Click MENU link at bottom left of the screen.

    Click ADD BUDDY

Then type +1 followed by 10 digit number (e.g., +17895551212)

Then click ADD and select which group you want to add the number to.

After you have successfully added the number to your list, then highlight the number and RIGHT-mouse click and select EDIT BUDDY, so that you can assign a name (e.g., Wife's Cell) to the number.

    Yes.

Don't bother with texting from the site since (1) you're limited to 140 chars and (2) the replies go to your phone.

Doing # 3 is the best way if you're on the computer.

Login to your AIM login via AIM Express and add your friends' phone number into your Buddy List (format: +1xxxyyyzzzz)

Then simply click their phone number/alias and start an IM conversation.

They will receive your IM as a text msg on their phones. But you're IM'ing for free from your computer.

Thanks Zandora, but when I click the AIM Express link to sign up, it doesn't work.

Nope, not working either. Are there anyother options that you know of?

    What exactly isn't working?

    You cannot access the site?

    Or you cannot login?

I can do both just fine.

Actually I just fixed it. It said the site was unsafe, but I just skipped the warning. Thanks for the help. I'll let you know if it works.

I think you'll like how it works.

I do it all the time when I'm at work Smiley Happy
