Purchase an iPhone 7plus 2 days ago; however, when I send a text to a non iPhone, it is not received, nor do I receive any. I have followed all the suggestions online. Help

IIRC, the iPhone is set by default to use iMessage, and falling back to SMS is disabled.  THis wold mean that you would use the Apple iMesage services to send messages to other iPhone users, but you would not have SMS services at all unless you have that featured enabled.  Double check your settings to make sure that you have the "Send as SMS" enabled on your phone.  You could also try turning iMessage off entirely to see if you are able to send/receive message that way as well.

Hi @Arlington1954!

My apologies for the trouble you’re having with your texting! I know just how frustrating that can be! Don’t worry though, I’m here to help out!

@GeekBoy does have a great point when it comes to iMessages. You’ll definitely want to check out that setting. Something else I want you to take a look into is your text messaging plan. I’ve seen previously where someone upgrading to a new model iPhone ends up losing their texting plan, if it is separate from the rest of their features. It’s definitely not common, but it is worth looking into.

You can do this by going to your online account and logging in. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll want to be on the Overview page, where you can see your due balance. From there click on the drop down menu that says I want to. On that menu, you’re looking for Manage My Plans & Services. After you’ve selected that, you can go to Change My Plan to ensure that your messaging plan is still in place. If not, you’ll definitely want to add in the unlimited messaging plan to get those non-iPhone texts back.

Let me know if this helps out! Thanks and have a good one!

I have the same problem. I have messaging plan. I can send to anyone with an iPhone but not to those who are not iPhone users. I have checked, and my Send as SMS is set for on. I tried setting it off and on again and I can't send messages to my sister, who uses a Samsung phone. What's the deal?
