No option to configure voicemail for prepaid plan, AT&T website is no help at all.

I use a prepaid plan because it is an outstanding deal on its own, $60 a month for unlimited everything with no data cap is hard to beat. That being said, their site does not have the option for live chat for prepaid plans (no idea why that would seem reasonable) and once youve logged in it automatically redirects you to your account dashboard which has been sanitized of all support features if youre prepaid.

The issue I have is that the directions they provide for configuring voicemail dont seem to be correct, atleast for my account. I press and hold 1 on my keypad to be directed to voicemail services, once here I do not get prompted to configure voicemail for my account, and am simply asked for a 10 digit number that I would like to leave I voicemail for. Entering my number here tells me there is no voicemail setup for the number. Calling my own number provides a busy signal as opposed to voicemail automated system. Device specific (S8) options say to use carriers voicemail procedures.

What can I do to get this set up? I will have time to call support late tonight when I get home, but would love to get this set up now because I rely on my phone for clients, and not having a voicemail is both not a good look and not practical. If anyone is familiar with this, I would very much appreciate some direction.

In any event, thanks for your time!

Hey there @qmanning33,

Thank you for bringing this question to the Community Forums! Having a working voicemail is an absolute necessity these days.

After reviewing the symptoms you mentioned, it seems like this is an issue with the voicemail provisioning on our end. To fix this, an AT&T representative would need to get into your account and review the information to make sure that it’s correct.

With that said, please check your Forum’s Inbox. I will be sending you a private message, so we can get started on fixing your voicemail. I look forward to getting in touch!
