IPAD AIR on Family Share Plan sms/iimessage question?
I recently brought 2 phones and an IPAD AIR to family share plan. The account does not does not seem to have texting activiated for the IPAD. Should I not be able to use sms and imessaging from Family share plan?

iPhones and iPads can use iMessage, which is not carrier text messaging, but data through Apple servers.
You can turn on iMessage on the iPads in settings and use your Apple ID to send and receive messages from other Apple devices.
