How do you send an SMS text message to email?

How do you send an SMS text message to email?

The instructions below seen to not be correct. If I address a text message to one of

my email accounts, add text and send - nothing arrives in my email account (I tried

google and yahoo). I checked the spam folder and nothing's in there. The text

message just seems to go nowhere.

The only way I have found to get a text to my email is to first send an email to

{my cell numer}@txt.att.net. This arrives in my text messaging app as having come

from a 410-100-xxx number. Now if I reply to *that* - then the message will arrive

in the email account. Is that 410-100-xxx number forever forward then associated

with my email address? Is there a manage these 410-100 numbers? And - finally -

is there in fact a way to send a text to an email address without that email address

first having sent a text message to you?

"How do I send text-to-email messages?

To send a text message as an email, enter your contact’s email address in the recipient field instead of a phone number. Then, create and send your text message."

Re: How do you send an SMS text message to email?

Hello @mmedwid, and thanks for reaching out to the AT&T community for help!

We don't have the ability to to reroute SMS from your line to an email address, however messages can be sent to email messaging from almost all phones by typing the address into the field in place of the phone number.

You can also check out our AT&T Messages Portal to learn how to back up and sync your messages to any device.

We hope this helps, and you have a great day!
