Email to Text Gateway
From last Thursday ( 03/Mar/2018 ) email to text using gateway stopped working. Messages we send via email are not reaching to end users. Is there any reason why all of a sudden its stopped working. We checked for few other service providers, all good. Also we tried for many numbers, so the problem is not with one number, its a global issue.

I am not able to receive email-to-text messages on my phone, and these are critical for my job. I was told after multiple hours on the phone with AT&T support that the previous website that you could use to set messaging preferences, messages.att.net has been taken down. No one seems to be able to answer for me why this doesnt work, but every time I try an email to mynumber@txt.att.net and mynumber@mms.att.net they bounce back saying that "the subscriber has restricted email". How can it be so difficult to identify where the restriction is and to lift it?

Quick reply to let you know I'm in the same boat. I have a new job and because AT&T took down the website to manage settings I cannot allow an additional domain in the e-mail restrictions I put on my txt.att.net number. I called support a few times and it was escalated, but the answer came back that it's no longer possible to self-manage those settings and AT&T is not able to change them for me. I still receive texts from the domains I previously allowed, I just can't add new domains to the whitelist.

This not a solution.
The only solution appears to be to be a phone from a different cell phone provider.

I'm not sure why this is such an issue, on my iPhone I can mark senders as VIP and they show up on my lock screen looking like texts.
I would think that Android has a similar feature?

Will you port your number over? I'm wondering if the settings are based on number, not account, and a new AT&T phone number will have different settings. If so, the next person that has my number isn't going to be happy.

We're still experiencing an issue with the Email to Text Gateway on Exchange. I have verified that the email format is as you stated above , however messages are not going through.
I saw on another post that AT&T has stopped supporting the Email to Text Gateway as of last year. Is this true?
Would love to know as we use this for business and a lot of employees depend on the ability to receive email texts.

I'm very fortunate but a costly situation in the respect that I just bought my second new phone and came back to AT&T only to find out the email to text don't work anymore and I can't get my Credit Union Alerts. That's the bad part, the good part is, it's a factory unlocked phone and I can go back to Boost where I have no problems. Come on Monday!!!!! I left AT&T 13 years ago because of stuff like this and now I know to stay away. I wanted to go Direct TV Now, but it's not possible if they keep having problems with NO resolutions. I bought a new unlocked S9+ and went with Verizon and they had the same problem. That phone I took back and went back to my old S7 with boost and no problems. I got my alerts. I just purchased this S10e 5 weeks ago and I can't take it back, but I can go to Boost as it unlocked as well. I took a chance again with AT&T and here I am again with the same problem. Both phones were factory unlocked. I should have just stayed with Boost.
