Can't download MMS messages on Galaxy S7

When I receive a group SMS message I get this error:

"Message not downloaded"  then "Review message and try again"

When I tap the message, it gives me this message "Download of (No Subject) from +1XXXXXXXXXX failed"

I've already cleared the cache, and under Mltimedia messages I have "Group Conversation" checked.

Hello @kruuth,

I am sorry to hear you are not able to download your group messages. I can help you get this resolved!

Group messages require a cellular data connection. Please try turning Wi-Fi off, mobile data on, and check if you have a 4G/LTE signal. If you do, try and download the group messages again. Older messages may need to be resent.

I also recommend using our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool. Select your make and model > Messaging > I Can't Send/Receive Messages > Group Messaging. This will provide personalized troubleshooting tailored to your device.

If you are still experiencing issues, please let us know. We are eager to get this resolved!

I found the solution for MMS messaging issues related to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 series phones. The APN settings that are listed on the website are reversed. The APN type settings should be as follows

APN Type:

default,supl,mms,hipri

NOT:

default,mms,supl,hipri

This slight change will allow MMS to come through.. 05/20/18

And what if I have no cell signal at my house?  What then???

Or what if cellular data is not working on my phone?  (You folks can't even figure out why *that* is)???

Oh, I see, it's all because AT&T want another opportunity to gouge their customers for more money.  Just admit it; you'd have the technical ability to make it work, you just don't want to.

This didn't work for me, yet I was convinced it would. I had previously noticed this too.
