Can't Reply to Automated Text Messages
Can't Reply to Automated Text Messages
I get a lot of automated text messages from job inquires and doctors appointments these are opt in or opt out messages i want to opt in to continue receiving these alerts but when I reply to the message with a yes to confirm that I want to get them the message fails to send? I get a red exclamation point next to my failed response, how do I fix this? I have a galaxy s7 edge and ive done what feels like everything to get it to work but i have no luck. I need help

Hello @Nualaflouse,
I am sorry to hear you have been unable to use your messaging services to the fullest, I will be more than happy to help!
We will want to ensure your device isnt attempting to prevent you from sending the messages out. From the Home screen, go to Settings > Tap the More tab > Tap Application Manager > Slide to the All tab > Scroll to and select Messaging > Under Permissions, place a check in Always allow.
Advanced Messaging is a feature in your phone which is meant to enhance your messaging capabilities. We will want to make sure it isnt the cause for the errors. Head to Messages > Settings > Advanced Messaging > turn it off and test the messaging before turning the feature back on to refresh it.
Let me know if these steps help!

Hello again @Nualaflouse,
I regret to hear the steps I provided did not resolve the problem. I still want to make sure we can get this resolved!
I did a bit more research and was able to find the tailored settings for your S7 Edge which will allow you to send short message services. Please follow these steps instead:
Please let me know if this resolves the problem! Have a nice day.

Good morning @Pickles102,
I definitely want to be sure you’re able to respond to these important short messages too!
Have you already tried enabling all the permissions under your messaging app? I recommend making sure premium messages is turned on as well. Here are the following steps:
Please let us know if this worked for you!

Can't reply to automated text messages.
My phone or maybe it is the messaging app? doesn't have an option for "send premium messages"

I have same issue with my LG G6 and my settings don't list an application or app manager section. I use to be able to send these message but after the notify came up and said "save my changes" I clicked on what I thought said "always allow" and now nothing is being sent when I reply to confirm.

for any of you that searched and searched for an "allow/send premium SMS" option under AppsMgr>Messages>Permissions - - and couldn't find it? Try the following - -it worked for me!
Go to Settings and then Applications
Choose Application Manager > More > Show system apps
Scroll down to M and select Message Service.
You should be able to see the option for Send Premium SMS, please make sure to select Always Allow here
