Att prepaid NO visual voicemail

Ever since I switched to prepaid my voicemail (visual) has only sent 3 voicemails in over 3years.  It will randomly send one through, but only a few times.  I have the $45 plan and I just upgraded to a 7plus and STILL NO VISUAL VOICEMAIL.  HELP

Hello @Krissym9978,

Welcome to the Community Forums! I can definitely assist you with getting your Visual Voicemail working.

Have you tried our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool? Once here, choose your device and select Voicemail under Service/network issues > Setting up voicemail > Are you trying to use Visual Voicemail > Yes. After you answer the questions, you will be provided with a resolution.

If you are still having issues with your voicemail after trying this, please let us know. I look forward to your reply!

I signed up for AT&T prepaid yesterday and I also noticed visual voicemail wasn't enabled on my iPhone 7+ either. However, it can be fixed!

Call 611 to contact customer service. Explain that visual voicemail is not working and they will provision your phone (yes, wirelessly) while you're on the phone with them. It took me about 15 minutes (hold time included).

Good luck!

Just an FYI, only iPhone gets VVM on prepaid as it’s built into the device.  If it’s not working, it’s most likely an Apple problem.

that's not true. I switched my son & I to at&t prepaid, brought our phones with us. he has a Motorola & gets at&t VVM WITH voicemail to text transcripts on At&t prepaid. I have a samsung galaxy s9 that did NOT have at&t VVM built in UNTIL I popped at&t sim card in then it auto installed on my phone. so I get at&t VVM BUT NO voicemail to text transcripts.

I was having the same issue even after multiple provisions from at&t prepaid customer service.

I decided to go into my settings to uninstall the app so I could reinstall it with the most current version, but it only allowed me to disable it.  HOWEVER PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS I TOOK TO FINALLY  GET IT TO WORK:

under main menu/home screen go to SETTINGS> APPS> VISUAL VOICEMAIL> Storage> Clear Cache> Clear Data> (then go back/press back arrow key)> MOBILE DATA> (make sure that these next 2 options are highlighted/selected/turned on because mine were NOT)> ALLOW BACKGROUND DATA USAGE> (and) > ALLOW APP WHILE DATA SAVER ON.

Then I pressed the back arrow key once after turning those 2 options on, >FORCE STOP> DISABLE> POWER BUTTON> RESTART PHONE> Once phone is back on> SETTINGS> APPS> VISUAL VOICEMAIL> ENABLE (that last step just gives it an overall refresh).

While this fixed my issue of not getting any van's, it still didnt fix the issue if not getting VVM transcripts of voicemail to text.
