Hi @Redbacks23

Thank you for contacting AT&T through Community Forums! We definitely apologize for the frustration you are having! This is not something that we want our customers to be feeling in regards to their devices or the AT&T network services!

At the moment, Advanced Messaging is available on a limited amount of compatible devices:

  • LG G3 with the most recent software update.
  • LG V10 with the most recent software update.
  • LG G5 with the most recent software update.
  • Samsung Galaxy S 5 mini with most recent software update.
  • Samsung Galaxy S 6 active with most recent software update.

A few Key Benefits that are included with Advanced Messaging:

  • Larger Files: Send high quality pictures, and longer or high resolution video file attachments up to 10MB in size.
  • Delivery and Read Receipt: See when your messages have been delivered and read.
  • Typing Notification: Know when the person you are messaging with is typing a response.

For additional information on Advanced Messaging, you can click on How Advanced Messaging is billed on the AT&T website.

Thank you for choosing AT&T for your wireless services!

My s7 edge got the new advanced messages feature and so did my wife's s7 edge. But now after we both enabled we constantly get error issues when she sends me pics. Any help? Thank you.

Anybody ever figured this out? AT&T you there?? I just switched both my girlfriend and myself to AT&T. She was on Sprint and I was on Verizon. She got an S7 and I got a Note7 and the bugs with advanced messaging are extremely annoying. It seems like every other picture I send her either fails to send or does send with half the image being Green. Earlier today one of my coworkers sent me an 8MB video that I had to "retry" about 15 times in order to finally get it downloaded. What's going on with this AT&T???

Turn off Advanced Messaging. I know this sucks as I was excited for the feature as well, but with all its issues, its more frustration then its worth. I can tell you the higher level techs are well aware of this issue (I talked to 2 that were very well versed in the issues), and its been a known issue for awhile.

Has anyone figured this out? I've been to AT&T and been on the phone with Samsung. No one mentioned it being a known issue. I'm having issues with pictures and texts.

I'm having issues as well... s6 active. I had to turn off the Advanced Messaging to send pictures again. Very frustrating.

I have LG G3 with the latest software. I enabled advanced messaging. I go to the app for messaging, I don't see anything different. Do I need to be in mobile data? Does mobile data needs to in LTE (I see 4G only)?

You won't see a differenceunless the other person has it enabled as well. If they do you will see a "read" and will also see a typing overlay when they are replying if you still have the message open.

Nothing on my end. Been playing with other messenger apps as a work around.
